ok, so i found that I have a lil extra $$ so i'm going to order my tires AND wheels today. The wheels i'm looking at are the Pro Comp Series 82 White Powder Spoke Wheel 15"x10" with a 3.75 backspacing. The tires I want are the MT Baja Claws 33x12.5 are those good size wheels for those tires?? I'm kinda clueless on this kinda stuff......since the jeep...is the first SUV i've ever owned...

I'd put 15x8's on those tires, instead of the 15x10's, but your choice.

Whats the difference in 15x8 or 15x10?

Be cautioned for those tires. Pricey tires for a daily driver. I say that becuase they are directional tread pattern. This means if you want to properly rotate them you would have to unmount them from the wheels to do so.
Without doing that you can only switch front to back, back to fron on each side.
Plus your spare will only be true direction for one side or the other.
I have Pro Comp Xterrains and I wasnt to thrilled after realizing all of that.
If my rig was trails only, it wouldnt be a big deal, but it is my DD.
x2 on the 15x8's though.

So what tires would you recommend then? I want something that is going to do really well on the trails...especially mud...and a decent road tire. As I do alot of traveling out of state in the later parts of the year.

Personally I'd stick with the BFG Mud Terrains or something similar. They do well in mud and are decent noise level and wear for on-road.

I'm looking for something a lil more aggressive though. The BFG Mud Terrains are nice...but I want a little more aggressive tread pattern. Have been looking at the Interco's, Super Swampers, Dick Cepeck, Mickey Thompson's. Can't really settle on one. I love the Baja claws though. They got great ratings.

Just rember that more agressive usually equates to more noise and faster wear on long road trips. Ask TJBuggy2B about his, he has a set of Baja Claws on his and can tell you more about them than I can.

Sunbee just got Mickey Thompson MTZ's. I can't wait to get her lift and tires on. Tire is aggresive which she likes and are supposed to wear nice and can be used year round. We will see if this is the case.

Super Swamper TrXus MTs will give you good tire life/road performance and handle trails without issue. they look good too, IMHO.
i ran Claws before my TSLs. they were noisy and the tread wore weird. they were great off road though.

What about the new Crushers?? Has anyone used those? Seen them? I hear they are good off road as well as on pavement...

what trails are you running, that helps alot when deciding as you can sacrifice a little pf the performance off road and offset a little onroad.
The Quadratec catalog has a pretty good breakdown on tires and performances.
Swampers are heavy and dont wear well, great offroad. Truxus M/Ts wear kinda short but are both good on the trail and on the road.
Pro Comp Xterrains, great mileage, great offroad and super strong, pricey though. Front to rear rotation really the only drawback. Pro Comp also makes a non directional M/T thats equally good but a bit noisier on the road as most M/Ts are
BFG, until the newer ones come out Id stay away from them, weak sidewalls on trails and overall ok elsewhere really more of a road tire. MTRs overall decent tire have to be particularly diligent on rotations. As for the Baja Claws, they look great but I havent heard much of them on the trail.
As for wheels, 15x8 3.75 bs will work well with any 33/1250 or 35/1250

Running mostly GWNF now and some mud holes in leesburg area. I'm more a muddin girl than rock crawling. So I want an aggressive tire that looks mean, and is good in deep mud

That's part of why I suggested stuff besides the MT/R. They're great on rocks, not as good in mud.
Do you have some private land you wheel up there in Leesburg?

No, I don't have any private land. Actually...Stoney98xj and myself go out to where the reservor is...actually more Loudon than Leesburg, but just on the other side of leesburg though off the greenway. Its off of Reservor Rd, don't know if your "allowed" to wheel back there...but we go anyways. Lots of mud..LOTS of it. Plus, you never know when you might run into some 12 year olds in a brand new stock rubicon who's stuck in the woods..(yes, that actually happened to us)

Umm prepare to be flamed..lol
For mud,hmm The MTRs actually self clean pretty good but arent the best true. Any of the Intercos, will do but go with a radial as youll find yourself with poor wear and lots of noise.

Mickey Thompson MTZ's.
No luck here with TruXus's, sidewalled way too many and I know others that have done the same.
Maxxis Bighorns are an equal to the MTZ's in my book also.

After a loooong debate and review I just ordered Bighorns. I have a number you can call and get them for $154 each to your doorstep. Put a helmet on and duck because I am sure there will be a great barrage of how terrible you are for going somewhere off road that you aren't sure you are allowed. PM me your number if you would like the number for the tires. That was about the cheapest I have found them.

I wont flame about the illegal wheeling adventures in Leesburg, all I will say is just take off any NovaJeepers logos referencing the club.
The club has a pretty good name when it comes to legal wheeling.

Well, we went back before we were members...and haven't really been back there since we saw those kids back there(months ago)...i'm not really flaming that we're doing illegal wheeling...considering that we didn't even know that you weren't allowed to go back there. Its all reservoir areas...nothing is gated off and no signs posted......no harm no faul i say...if you don't have a sign up or a gate saying i can't go, i'm going to assume i can
